Masters of Strategic Communication
Reaching ideal audiences.
About.
The Masters of Strategic Communication program is housed in the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. The curriculum is designed to help students working full-time in advertising, marketing, or another related field take their careers to the next level.
Our Challenge.
Reach a higher number of prospective students and boost attendance at informational sessions.
Graphic Design: Social Media.
It was clear that the program needed a fresh look in order to appeal to new students. Using the images provided by the program, we created all-new graphics for Facebook and LinkedIn. These graphics intentionally appealed to prospective students from a variety of backgrounds.
Video Content Creation: Alumni Stories.
In addition to static images, we wanted to create video content that helps prospective students visualize themselves in the program. We interviewed several program alumni and helped create a new introductory video for the informational sessions. This video could also be shared with interested students who reached out to program coordinators, but were unable to attend the informational sessions.
Media Buying.
Once we had our graphics, it was time to get them circulating online. We handled the entire media buying process for Facebook advertising. Our ad campaign ran for five months and generated over 300,000 impressions.
Unpaid Media: Social Media Strategy.
Through a combination of weekly content posting and increased audience awareness, we raised the client’s LinkedIn follower count. We helped them understand the top geographic and demographic sectors of their audience.
The Impact.
Our social media campaign had the highest connectivity rates with prospective students who sought fulfillment and professional growth. Informational session hearings successfully reached benchmark attendance numbers. We continue to work with the program to drive up student numbers and raise awareness of the program’s benefits.
